The McKinney Community Band and McKinney Dance Band both need volunteers from time to time.
MCB’s volunteer needs could include:
- help usher audience at a concert
- technical assistance/logistics
- help organize the music library
- other (TBD)
Duties of an MCB usher include:
- Arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the announced concert time.
- Keep the doors closed to the auditorium until 30 minutes before the concert start time.
- Greet the audience members and hand out programs as they enter the auditorium.
- Do a quick headcount of audience members about 15 minutes into the concert to allow stragglers a little extra time.
- Report any issues and the concert count to the Concert Manager who will be your contact with the band.
Technical assistance could include:
- Scanning new music
- Share audio/visual skills at the concert
- Assist with concert stage set-up
Organizing the library could include:
- Organizing music files online
- Keeping up with the music library at our storage unit
