The McKinney Flute Choir, under the direction of Veronica Mascaro, was founded in 2009.
We are an adult flute choir formed to promote the enjoyment of flute ensemble playing and to perform throughout the North Texas community. The ensemble includes several members of the flute family (piccolo, C flute, alto flute and bass flute). The group performs a wide range of music from classical to traditional to jazz and more.
Over the past years, the flute choir has played at many events and venues throughout the North Texas area, including the McKinney Performing Arts Center, McKinney Senior Center, George Bush Presidential Library, State Fair of Texas, LifePath Systems “Sweet Dreams” Fundraiser, First McKinney Baptist Group, City of McKinney Boards and Commissions Dinner, Baylor Hospital, Music in Motion, St. Gabriel’s Ladies Association, Christ the Servant Lutheran Church Coffee House Series, the Eldorado Country Club Ladies Association, McKinney Newcomers Club, McKinney Garden Club, Voyager’s Social Club, various retirement centers, several churches, and weddings.

Joining the McKinney Flute Choir
We are always interested in adding new members to our ensemble. If you play the flute, we would love to meet you and encourage you to join us for a few rehearsals to get to know us!
We rehearse on Thursdays from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM at Scott Johnson Middle School, 3400 Community Drive, McKinney, TX 75071.
No formal auditions are required. We ask that potential members join us for a few rehearsals before any final membership decisions are made and that potential members be able to play at the current level of the group. If you would like to join us for a rehearsal, please fill out the Contact Us form.
