The McKinney Community Band celebrates American music and patriotic traditions with an evening of music from American composers, Broadway, and plenty of rousing favorites, including Omar Thomas’s “Come Sunday.”
As always, our concerts are free to attend with no ticket required.

In observance of the total solar eclipse on April 8, the McKinney Community Band is “celebrating” the celestial event on eclipse weekend with a concert filled with music harkening to all things space. On the program are familiar pieces from classic movies, “E.T. The Extraterrestrial” and the Star Wars epic film franchise as well as three movements from Holst’s “The Planets” Suite and more.
As always, McKinney Community Band concerts are free and do not require a ticket or reservation to attend. This concert is made possible in part by a grant from the McKinney Arts Commission and support of donors.
(Note: The band invites you to come in costume if you are a Star Wars or E.T. fan! And make sure to stop in the lobby to take photos with our Star Wars cosplayer friends from the Star Garrison.)
The McKinney Dance Band performs a salute to veterans and performs music from Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters. The Dance Band will be joined by the Boogie Woogie Trio for this performance. Please come join us and enjoy the extra floor space for dancing.
