Celebrate Veterans Day at the McKinney Dance Band’s annual concert honoring the “red, white, and the blues” and our cherished U.S. Armed Forces veterans, of course! Bring your dancing shoes if the music moves you to get up and “cut a rug”. As always, no tickets are required.

An American Celebration: MCB’s Annual Patriotic Concert

The McKinney Community Band presents its annual patriotic concert of American music in celebration of our country’s independence! As always, no ticket is required.

This concert is funded in part by a generous grant from the City of McKinney Arts Commission.

“Music in Motion” Spring Band Concert – April 30 at 7 p.m.

Big Band Royalty: Sinatra Meets Duke

We look forward to seeing you as we honor two music greats, Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington, at our spring McKinney Dance Band concert on Friday, April 1. We’ll be at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, 111 N. Tennessee. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and music starts at 7 p.m. No tickets or reservations needed.

Come ready to dance again as we’ll again have an area in front of the stage open as a dance.

McKinney Dance Band – Red, White & Big Band III

The McKinney Dance Band’s annual salute to Veterans is back with an audience in the historic McKinney Performing Arts Center. As always we’ll be performing patriotic favorites and some great big band music. AND this year we have more floor space for DANCING!! We will also feature The Boogie Sisters trio.
As always our concerts are free to attend and we do not require reservations for this event.

MCB 2021 Christmas Concert (In-Person!)

Help us kick off the holiday season with an evening of classic festive favorites including a singalong and narration of “The Night Before Christmas” for the kids! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. at McKinney North High School, 2550 Wilmeth Road (at Community Ave.). The auditorium entrance is on the southeast side of the school off Community Ave.

Musical Journey (In-Person Concert)

Dancing into Spring: Virtual Flute Choir Concert

Put on your dancing shoes and join the McKinney Flute Choir as they dance into Spring with music from around the world at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, at a free live virtual event through the Allen Public Library’s Live OnStage@APL series.

From the lively “Hopak” to the fiery “Russian Sailor’s Dance” to the sultry “Libertango,” viewers will be inspired to tap their feet and move to the music. Additionally, prepare to be treated to other fun, spirited pieces such as “Ragtime Dance” and “Juba Dance.” Folk and lyrical selections will include melodies such as “Simple Gifts” and “A Gaelic Offering.”

Red, White & The Blues II – A Salute to Veterans

 

Enjoy a virtual performance of some swinging and bluesy numbers to salute our Veterans virtually. You’ll see new performances, favorite recordings from previous concerts (some even include some audience participation – dancing!), and stories told by a few of our band members about their memories of their military service. We’d love to have you join us!
